Society and our BS double standards
I just read a blog post off here from Scarlettaddams, and it reminded me of two things, and they are completely intertwined. The first being of my utter despise for the male female double standard of our society. The second being of one of my newest friends, (I have known her for a while, but only recently have we really gotten to be friends), how is the most "liberated" (to keep it relevant to this post) people I know.
What did I mean when I called her liberated, well let me define that for the sake of my rant. I am saying that she is very free spirited, she does what she want's to do. She makes her choices in life based on what she wants to do. Most importantly to this rant, this carries completely into her sex life. She does what she wants to with who she wants to. Now to some of you, you may call her a slut for this, which leads me right to my first point, our societal double standards are way f'd up.
So let me get this straight, it is great that guys have the freedom to go out and sleep around with whoever and whatever they want to. It is their right to passage, it makes them a man. It is part of their learning experience in life. (Hey, that one I will actually defend) It is a guys duty and honor to go out and whore around, it is what we do. (well, it is what we do)
Women are supposed to be pure and virginal and wait til they are married. BULLFUCKINGSHITDAMNWHATTHEHOLYHELL!!!!!!! Why do guys have the moral obligation to go out and get laid, and women have the moral obligation to stay "pure?" Why don't women get the same freedom to experience what life has to offer. And how in the hell is it possible for all these guys to get laid without women being given the same freedom. (Throw all the gay jokes in there that you like, I have absolutely nothing against homosexuals, and I have quite a few friends who are themselves)
Well, I was raised that all people are equal. Sure many of you will say that, but do you believe in that double standard, if so, then you don't believe that. Say what you will, but you have already lost the argument. I think that all men and women have the same rights in life, should experience the same things. Should live the same way. (meaning free to make their own choices) Just because some egotiscal men want to marry a virgin, doesn't mean that all women need to bow to your whim. Isn't wanting to marry a virgin an ego thing anyways, after all, of course she will tell you your the best, she doesn't know any better!!! For years I wanted to experience a virgin, I never have, and anymore, I don't want one. Give me an experienced veteran that knows what she is doing.
Is your issue that you don't want a woman that has been with other men? What makes you think she wants a guy that has been with 200 women? Why do you care? Are you afraid that she will always remember someone who was better? It doesn't matter who you are, what you are, or where you are, there is always someone better out there. (that goes well beyond sex) Get over yourself, and put your ego in check.
